Aland Islands
Last updated: 2024
The Åland Islands are a peaceful and picturesque archipelago in the Baltic Sea, known for their unspoiled nature, maritime heritage, and Swedish-speaking culture. Tourists enjoy cycling through scenic landscapes, exploring charming villages, and visiting historic sites like Kastelholm Castle and the Maritime Museum in Mariehamn. With a relaxed pace of life and strong eco-tourism appeal, Åland offers a perfect escape for nature lovers and slow travelers.
I have visited archipelago in 2024, as part of Nomadmania trip. It was an unusual trip, because we were able to visit tiny island of Märket, which is the smallest island in the world, divided by international border.
