Paraná is a diverse southern Brazilian state best known for the spectacular Iguaçu Falls, one of the country’s greatest natural attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beyond the falls, Paraná offers subtropical landscapes, Atlantic rainforest, canyons and waterfalls, as well as distinctive cultural heritage shaped by Indigenous, Portuguese, European and Japanese influences. For travelers, the state works especially well as a combination of nature and adventure around Foz do Iguaçu, historic towns such as Lapa and Morretes, and the scenic Serra do Mar.
